Thursday June 4 2026
Anatomy Laboratory, University of Bordeaux
Introduction
The Bordeaux Practical Master Class in Dermatological Surgery will be dedicated to an exclusive hands-on workshop, offering an enriching experience for participants. This workshop, inspired by previous editions of the Bordeaux Master Class, will take place at the Anatomy Laboratory of the University of Bordeaux.
Dissection and Reconstruction Objectives
Participants will have the opportunity to refine their technical skills through practical dissection sessions combined with reconstruction techniques, all guided by experts.
Immersive Approach
This unique learning environment will enable participants to work on concrete cases under the supervision of recognized specialists in the field of dermatological surgery. Emphasis will be placed on the precision of surgical movements and the improvement of manual skills in real contexts.
Privileged Training Environment
Small group workshop in an academic setting:
Limited to 28 participants, this day ensures a personalized and interactive work environment, fostering deep learning and close proximity to the instructors. The anatomy laboratory of the University of Bordeaux provides a perfectly adapted space for dissection exercises, replicating surgical conditions with high fidelity.
Skills Developed:
- Advanced dissection techniques
- Skin reconstruction strategies
- Refinement of technical procedures in dermatological surgery
This first day represents a unique opportunity for participants to reinforce their practical skills, benefiting from expert guidance in a high-quality academic environment. It serves as an ideal prelude to the second day's conference, which is dedicated to theoretical teaching and the optimization of reconstruction and healing practices.
Program
“Minimalist approaches to facial oncological surgery”
- One instructor and one specimen head for 4 participants (28 total)
- 6 one-hour sessions: 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon
Structure of a Session:
Discuss the location and size of the tissue loss, evaluate the various repair options (advantages/disadvantages), validate the optimal solution (10 min), followed by a demonstration (10 min) before execution by the trainees (40 min).
This allows time to conceptualize the different repair techniques and tissue movements, followed by the validation of the most relevant solution before moving on to the technical phase of execution.
